Empowering Communities to Expedite Recovery
Partnering with the Disaster Readiness Center means joining forces with a team that brings years of hands-on experience in disaster recovery. Whether you’re standing up a Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) for the first time or looking to strengthen an existing organization, our team is here to provide tailored support every step of the way. We’ve walked alongside communities rebuilding after all types of disasters, and our partnerships with seasoned experts ensure we deliver proven strategies alongside innovative solutions. By combining expertise with a forward-thinking approach, we help communities stay ready to face challenges, both now and in the future.
DARCI is a disaster awareness and preparedness program developed in partnership with the Disaster Readiness Center. It is designed to empower communities and their citizens to be better connected and prepared for natural disasters. DARCI provides communities with critical disaster and recovery knowledge, skills, and tools needed to increase their ability to recover faster and with greater efficiency, thus lessening the disaster’s impact on its citizens and the community.

Following the severe storm system that swept across Western Kentucky from April 2–6, 2025, the Disaster Readiness Center, in partnership with the Community Foundation of West Kentucky, has launched the Disaster Readiness Center Recovery Fund at the Community Foundation of West Kentucky. The fund is now accepting donations to support long-term recovery initiatives throughout the region.
